We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you visit regada.lk, create an account, contact us, or place an order.
The data controller, applicable data protection law and complaint route for each country we sell into are set out in the Schedules at the end of this policy.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use our website, we may collect:
- Identity and contact information: your name, delivery and billing address, email address and telephone number.
- Order and transaction information: products purchased, order value, delivery details, returns, exchanges and customer-support history.
- Account information: your username, your password in protected form, saved preferences and wish-list information.
- Payment-related information required to complete a transaction. Card and banking details are processed securely by our authorised payment gateway and financial institutions. REGADA does not store your full card number or card security code.
- Bank account details, where you request a refund on a cash-on-delivery order and provide an account for the transfer.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions collected through cookies or similar technologies.
- Marketing preferences and any information you voluntarily provide through reviews, surveys, competitions, social media or communications with us.
2. How we use your information
We may use personal information to:
- process payments, confirm orders, arrange delivery, and manage returns, exchanges and refunds;
- create and manage customer accounts;
- provide customer service and respond to questions, requests and complaints;
- send order updates, service notices and, where permitted, marketing communications;
- personalise the website and understand how customers use our products and services;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorised transactions and security incidents;
- maintain business, tax, accounting and legal records; and
- comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, lawful requests and payment-provider rules.
3. Basis for processing
We process personal information where it is necessary to enter into or perform a contract with you, where you have given consent, where we must comply with a legal obligation, or where we have a legitimate business interest that is not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
Where processing is based on consent, such as promotional emails or non-essential cookies, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.
4. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share only the information reasonably necessary with:
- payment gateways, banks, card networks and fraud-prevention providers;
- courier, logistics, warehousing and fulfilment providers;
- website hosting, cloud storage, analytics, communications and customer-support providers;
- professional advisers such as accountants, auditors, insurers and legal advisers;
- government, regulatory, law-enforcement or judicial authorities where disclosure is legally required; and
- a successor or purchaser in connection with a genuine merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Service providers are contractually required to use personal information only for the services they perform for REGADA and to protect it appropriately.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses essential cookies to operate the shopping cart, checkout, account and security features. We may also use analytics or advertising cookies to understand website performance and show relevant content, where permitted.
You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie settings on our website or through your browser. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including completing transactions, providing support, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, and meeting accounting, tax, legal and regulatory obligations.
Order and transaction records are generally retained for the period required by applicable tax and company law. Account and marketing data are retained until you close your account or withdraw consent, whichever is earlier, subject to any longer retention required by law.
When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it.
7. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, loss, misuse or disclosure. These include encrypted transmission, restricted access to customer records, and the use of payment providers that handle card data on our behalf.
No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by applicable law.
8. International transfers of personal information
Some of our service providers process or store information outside Sri Lanka. These include website hosting, payment, analytics and communications providers.
Where we transfer personal information across borders, we do so on one or more of the following bases, as permitted by applicable law:
- the transfer is necessary to perform the contract with you, such as processing your payment or arranging delivery;
- the receiving country provides an adequate level of protection under applicable law;
- the recipient is bound by contractual commitments requiring a comparable standard of protection; or
- you have given your consent to the transfer after being informed of the risks.
You may request further information about a specific transfer by contacting us at info@ApparelNest.com.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of your information where it is no longer required;
- object to, or request restriction of, certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- opt out of promotional communications at any time.
To make a request, contact info@ApparelNest.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the period required by applicable law in your country, and in any event without undue delay.
We may retain information where the law permits or requires us to do so, and will explain the reason if we cannot fully action a request.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the data protection authority identified in the Schedule for your country.
10. Children's privacy
Our website is not intended for children under 18 to make purchases independently. A person under 18 should use the website and place an order only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children contrary to applicable law. If you believe we have collected such information, contact info@ApparelNest.com and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, and REGADA is not responsible for their content or their handling of personal information.
